NORTH ST. PAUL, Minn. - The thief who stole a truckload of toys bound for needy kids isn't getting away with their Christmas.
A group of soft-hearted benefactors has come forward to pledge replacements for the 20 bags of toys taken Tuesday from an SUV parked in Anoka on Tuesday. The toys had just been picked up from a donation site and were eventually bound for Webster Elementary School in North St. Paul.
Comedian Louie Anderson and former Minnesota Timberwolves player Richard Coffey were among the people who pledged donations of toys and money to make up for the loss.
