A Fargo bicyclist was injured Wednesday night after being struck by a vehicle as he left the parking lot of Rick's Bar in Fargo, 2721 Main Ave.

Karl Hanson, 40, was struck by a vehicle headed west on Main Avenue about 11 p.m., Fargo police Sgt. Mark Lykken said.

"The vehicle tried to avoid him but couldn't," Lykken said.

Authorities have not been able to interview Hanson. The driver of the vehicle is not suspected of driving under the influence, Lykken said. Hanson was transported to Fargo's MeritCare Hospital with what authorities believe to be nonlife-threatening injuries.

No arrests were made in connection with the incident, which is still under investigation.
