GRAND FORKS - Two car accidents that occurred within hours of each other in Grand Forks sent a bicyclist and a pedestrian to the hospital Tuesday.
At about 10 a.m., Joel Delong, 27, of East Grand Forks, Minn., was riding his bike west along DeMers Avenue, and when trying to cross Demers through the eastbound lanes, he collided with a pickup driven by Frederick Farrar of Rapid City, S.D., police said.
Delong was thrown from his bike and transported to Altru Hospital with unknown injuries, police said.
At about 12:30 p.m., a man was working outside a residence when he felt a bee fly into his ear, police said. In trying to ward off the bee, Nathan Raser, 20, of Grand Forks, stepped into 20th Street and was struck by a pickup driven by Bruce Lessard of Grand Forks.
Raser suffered injuries to the head, stomach and leg, said Damion Brown, a co-worker with a landscaping company.
