Body found in car at parking lot of Fargo grocery store

FARGO — The body of a deceased elderly woman was found in a car in the parking lot of the Cash Wise grocery store along 13th Avenue South on Wednesday, Jan. 30, according to Fargo police.

A passer-by spotted the body while checking on the car. Officers were called to the store, 1401 33rd St. S., at about noon.

The deceased woman was inside the car, which was wedged against a large snow pile in the northeast corner of the lot. Police believe the body had been in the car for two days.

Police don't believe foul play is involved, and they don't believe the woman died because of the recent extremely cold temperatures.

Investigators are working to identify the woman and notify her family. The death remains under investigation, police said.
