Boy killed in ATV accident at Grand Forks Air Force Base identified

GRAND FORKS – The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the boy who was killed Thursday in an ATV accident at the Grand Forks Air Force Base. 

Jeremiah Solhjem, 9, of McLeod was pronounced dead at Altru Hospital after he lost control of the ATV near the Plains View Golf Course around 10 a.m. Thursday. He was driving in a rutted, grassy area and was ejected from the vehicle, which overturned and came to rest on top of him.

Solhem was not wearing a helmet, according to the patrol.
