If you have forgotten, David Benson is the new head boys hockey coach at Fargo South.
He's the 25-year-old Concordia College graduate who was selected in July to replace longtime Bruins mentor Dean Wilson. Wilson, you will remember, led the Bruins to three state titles in 18 years behind the bench.
Because of the expectations and history at South, and Wilson's legacy, Benson's task is both enviable and not so enviable at the same time.
But Benson, who will introduce the new era of Bruins hockey to the general public Tuesday when his team takes on Moorhead at 7:30 p.m. at the Urban Plains Center, is hoping to put his own stamp on the powerhouse program.
"Dean Wilson had a heck of a life here at South," Benson said. "We want to keep that winning attitude going. The biggest thing is having the kids develop a passion for it, and they want to still keep playing even after they are through here. Hopefully, the passion and youthfulness I have can get into them."
