A two-vehicle crash in Fargo Saturday morning meant an early -- and unintended -- opening for a Fargo business.
The crash occurred about 7:18 a.m. when a Moorhead MAT bus eastbound on NP Avenue hit a southbound car at the intersection with Fourth Street, Fargo police said. The bus had a green light, police said.
The bus hit the car's passenger side, bounced away from it and went through a window at Kiefer's variety store, located in the former Berg Motor Supply building on the intersection's southeast corner.
The bus didn't go very far into the store but shattered a large, plate-glass window, strewing glass both on the sidewalk and inside the store.
The bus carried only the driver, Wyman Atkins, 47, police said. He and the driver of the car, Jaime Carlson, 25, Fargo, were taken to MeritCare Hospital, where both were treated and released.

Police were uncertain whether any citation would be issued in connection with the accident.
Kiefer's owner Kurt Kiefer was on his way to Valley City, N.D., where he just opened a new store Friday, when he was summoned to his downtown Fargo business. He planned to open at 10 a.m. for his regular Saturday business hours.
He noted with a rueful chuckle that for many years, the front of the building was tin and the large windows were installed only recently.
"I need this like a need a hole in my head -- a hole in my front window," he said.
