HUDSON, Wis. – A South Dakota woman who was accused of performing a sex act in front of a crowd in the Apple River over the weekend has pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors connected to the incident.
Two felony charges and two other misdemeanors were dismissed Thursday during the plea hearing for Jody A. Degen, 30, of Alexandria, S.D. Degen pleaded guilty in St. Croix County Circuit Court to resisting or obstructing an officer and lewd, lascivious behavior-exposure, according to court records.
She was given a stayed sentence of 30 days in jail and must write a letter of apology to an Apple River campground owner.
A sheriff’s deputy responded to a report of a disturbance Saturday afternoon at Apple River Hideaway in Somerset, Wis., and was told Degen and a man had been performing a sex act in front of a group of onlookers, according to the criminal complaint, which said several campers reported being offended by the behavior.
Degen, who was topless when the deputy arrived, allegedly spat on and kicked the deputy, the complaint states. Both she and the man, Dustin R. Wolf, 30, of Alexandria, S.D., were arrested. Wolf has not been charged.

The dismissed charges that had been filed against Degen were throw/discharge bodily fluid at public safety worker and battery to law enforcement officers, firefighters or commission wardens – both felonies – and misdemeanor charges of sexual gratification and disorderly conduct.
