Cass County prosecutors filed a charge this week against a fugitive sex offender arrested in Fargo after his profile aired on "The Oprah Winfrey Show."
William Carl Davis, 33, lived in the Fargo-Moorhead area and worked as a handyman for more than a year before his capture Oct. 6 by FBI agents.
Court records say Davis failed to register with the Fargo Police Department as a sex offender while living in the area from Aug. 1, 2004, to Oct. 7.
Davis used his brother's identification to obtain a North Dakota driver's license while living here, a police report shows.
State law requires Davis to register as a sex offender because he was convicted in Indiana on child molestation charges in 1992.

An arrest warrant was issued Thursday, one day after prosecutors filed the charge.
Davis is jailed in Indiana pending a trial on 10 felony child molestation charges. Authorities there issued an arrest warrant after he failed to show for a court hearing.
An Oct. 4 broadcast of Winfrey's show profiled several fugitive sex offenders, including Davis. He was living in a Fargo apartment at 1517 4th Ave. N.
Karie Miller of Fargo and Jeanne Rosenthal of Moorhead later received $50,000 cashier's checks on Winfrey's show for tipping off the FBI.
