Catherine B. Rowan
Catherine Belle Rowan was born on August 29, 1914, in Larimore, ND, the daughter of Fred & Ivy (Sheets) Jones. As a child, Catherine moved with her family to Moorhead, where she graduated from high school. After high school she remained in Moorhead and attended Moorhead State Teachers College. Catherine taught school in North Dakota for awhile before marrying Webster Rowan on July 25, 1939, in Moorhead. They lived in Moorhead until their retirement; they then summered in Detroit Lakes, MN, and wintered in Mesa, AZ. Webster passed away on July 10, 1987, in Detroit Lakes. In 2001, Catherine moved to Waterloo, IA, and she made many new friends in the area.
Catherine passed away on Monday, August 11, 2003, at the age of 88 years.
Over her lifetime she was a past president of Chapter "O" P.E.O. in Moorhead and was active in the Campfire Girls Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Owen & Bob Jones.

Catherine is survived by three daughters; Barbara Cooper of Snowflake, AZ, Mary (Bob) Nelson of Traer, IA, Marje Rowan of Waterloo, IA; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
