MINNEAPOLIS – A Minneapolis man is accused of driving 100 mph while drunk, with a 4-year-old girl in the car.
Michel Silva, 26, was northbound on Interstate 35W near Minnesota 13 on Sunday when a state trooper pulled him over for allegedly speeding and weaving in and out of lanes.
Silva was charged Tuesday in Dakota County with child endangerment and third-degree driving while impaired.
According to the criminal complaint:
The trooper arrested Silva after he failed to walk in a straight line or stand on one leg and a preliminary breath test showed an alcohol concentration greater than the legal limit for driving.
While waiting for the vehicle to be towed, the trooper found the girl, who was not restrained in a booster or car seat.
The complaint does not state the child’s relationship to Silva.
He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 31.
