MINNEAPOLIS - Vice President Dick Cheney will do double-duty on a trip to Minnesota next week, appearing ata rally forthe Minnesota National Guard and at a GOP fund-raiser.
Cheney is due to make remarks during an afternoon rally Monday at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. The event is open to Guard members and their families.
"The Minnesota National Guard has done a whole lot in fighting the global war on terror, and the vice president wanted to thank them in person," said Cheney spokes-woman Jennifer Mayfield.
Minnesota has 3,000 Guard members serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Cheney is also scheduled to appear later at a Minnesota Republican Party fundraiser in a private residence.
