Children's Hospital kids going to camp

Five children who have been patients at MeritCare Children's Hospital will attend the Minnesota Vikings' annual Sports Camp for Kids Tuesday in Eden Prairie, Minn.

Five children who have been patients at MeritCare Children's Hospital will attend the Minnesota Vikings' annual Sports Camp for Kids Tuesday in Eden Prairie, Minn.

Attending the camp will be Sylvester Brown, 9, Fergus Falls, Minn.; Jeffrey Hughes, 9, and Davis Steen, 10, both of Fargo; Anne Lachowitzer, 13, Herman, Minn.; and Gregory Ritter, 13, Chokio, Minn. They will be accompanied by their parents and MeritCare Child Life Specialist Kristine Schimek.

The camp is for children from across the upper Midwest who are living with chronic illnesses or special needs.

Minnesota Viking Chris Walsh and several of his teammates will introduce them to some of the basic skills and strategies of football and participants also will have a chance to ask questions, visit with players and get photos and autographs.
