Region V Children's Services will honor two women and one agency Thursday at its annual meeting for the help and support they've given to children and their families.
The Southeastern North Dakota Community Action Agency will receive the Special Projects Award. Its Project Help Program helps families in financial crisis pay their rent, deposits and utilities.
Kathy Hogan, director of Cass County Social Services, will receive the Distinguished Service Award for serving the region's children and families for more than 30 years.
And Julie Gunkelman, director of the McCormick Park Charism Program, will receive the Advocate Award. Gunkelman helped start Charism in 1994 to provide recreational and mentoring opportunities for children in the McCormick Park area, the Region V Children's Services said.
Region V's coordinating committee will present the awards from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Olivet Lutheran Church.
