MOORHEAD — The City of Moorhead forestry department will be celebrating Arbor Day with a tree planting demonstration at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30, at Romkey Park, 900 19th St. S. The planting tree sites will be on the south end of the park.
Forestry department staff will be on hand to plant trees, talk about Arbor Day and celebrate Moorhead's 33rd year of being a Tree City USA . City forestry will plant some uncommonly used tree varieties in the park to test for winter hardiness and adaptability to the local soil and climate conditions.
The public is welcome to the event.
