Clay County to collect fluorescent bulbs

Clay County and Retrofit Recycling are sponsoring a business fluorescent bulb collection May 22. Times and locations are 9 to 11 a.m., Clay County Landfill, four miles west of Hawley on U.S.

Clay County and Retrofit Recycling are sponsoring a business fluorescent bulb collection May 22. Times and locations are 9 to 11 a.m., Clay County Landfill, four miles west of Hawley on U.S. Highway 10 and 2 1/2 miles south on County Road 23; and noon to 4 p.m., Family Service Center, Moorhead, in the northwest corner of the parking lot near the intersection of Eighth Avenue and Ninth Street North.

Fluorescent bulb prices range from 45 cents to $4.49 each; broken bulbs are $2 per pound; ballasts containing PCBs are $1.25 per pound; and electronics equipment prices range from 70 cents per pound to $12 each for computer monitors.

Payment must be made by cash or check payable to Retrofit Recycling at the time of collection.
