Eighty percent of Moorhead and Clay County drivers are using seat belts, according to the latest survey, Moorhead police Lt. Dan Griffin said.
The use sampled in 12 city and county locations is up3 percent from earlier this month but still below the all-time record of 84 percent, Griffin said. That was set last May.
Additional overtime seat- belt enforcement focus began Monday and will continue through June 4.
The Moorhead Police Department, Clay County Sheriff's Department, Dilworth Police Department, Glyndon Police Department and Hawley Police Department are taking part in the overtime enforcement focus on seat-belt use.
