Moorhead School Board members have hired a real estate agency to sell Townsite Centre, the district's administrative building.
The board agreed Monday to hire Coldwell Banker First Realty-Encore to find a buyer for the 1920s building at 810 4th Ave. S.
Once a buyer is found, Coldwell Banker will receive 5.5 percent of Townsite's sale price, which has not been determined, said Mark Weston, the district's assistant superintendent of business.
Weston recommended the hiring of Coldwell Banker because of its knowledge of the Fargo-Moorhead commercial market and its strong roots in the community.
The agency was one of three agencies the district had considered hiring.

Coldwell Banker agent Tom Kiewel said his company hopes to set a sales price for Townsite by Friday.
The agency will list the property on Coldwell Banker's local and national Web sites and prepare a marketing brochure for potential buyers, Kiewel said.
He said the sales process will take at least three to four months to complete once an interested buyer is found.
In other business Monday, the Moorhead School Board:
- Approved a new two-year deal with confidential secretaries, who work with the district's top administrators.
Under the agreement, secretaries will receive a 6.8 percent raise in salaries and benefits in 2002-03 and a
3.1 percent hike in 2003-04.
- Passed a motion proposing to discharge and suspend Moorhead High psychologist Sandra Bekkerus with pay.

Few details were available on why Bekkerus was being suspended from her duties.
However, the resolution OK'd by the board Monday stated the outcome had been in the works for two years.
Bekkerus has been employed by the district since September 1989, said Ron Nielsen, the district's human resources director.
- Set the board's summer retreat July 8 at the Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead.
