Concordia College in Moorhead issued a campus alert Wednesday after a female student was attacked several blocks from the school Tuesday night.
The student was confronted by a stranger in the area of the 200 block of Eighth Street South about 11:30 p.m. and a struggle ensued, according to the alert issued by Tom Iverson, head of campus security.
Although the student was struck by her attacker, she was able to get away when he tried to restrain her, the alert said.
The assailant was described as a white male, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and stocky. The man was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a Raiders football cap, the alert said.

Moorhead Police Sgt. Joel Scharf said the victim, a freshman, told authorities she pushed the man away when he tried to kiss her. She said the man slapped her.
The woman told police she kicked her attacker in the groin and ran to some friends who were walking in the same area some distance away.
Scharf said the victim declined to give police the identities of her friends.
