Concordia to host powwow March 5

The 22nd annual Woodlands and High Plains Traditional Powwow will be from 12:30 to 10 p.m. March 5 at Concordia College's Memorial Auditorium. This year's theme is "Honor. Teach. Celebrate.

The 22nd annual Woodlands and High Plains Traditional Powwow will be from 12:30 to 10 p.m. March 5 at Concordia College's Memorial Auditorium.

This year's theme is "Honor. Teach. Celebrate. A Cultural Journey."

The event is sponsored by Concordia College, Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Minnesota State University Moorhead and North Dakota State University and is being held to honor and celebrate Native American heritage and the educational achievements of American Indians.

The powwow will feature many styles of dance and drum songs from area tribes, educational and commercial vendors.

Grand entries will begin at 1 and 7 p.m. Registration will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Admission is free for children ages 5 and under and adults age 55 and older, $2 for children ages 6 to 18, and $3 for adults. College students are admitted for free with a student ID.
