Thursday's National Book Award discussion held at Concordia College will be broadcast on Minnesota Public Radio at 10 a.m., April 5.
Irish/American novelist Colum McCann was the featured author. He won the National Book Award for his 2009 stories surrounding Philippe Petit's 1974 tightrope walk between the Twin Towers, "Let the Great World Spin." The event was emceed by MPR's "Midmorning" host Keri Miller.
Before the author conversation began, Concordia honored Harold Augen-braum, executive director of the National Book Foundation with the President's Medallion, a replication of the emblem worn by Concordia president for official ceremonial events.
