FARGO – A 28-year-old Fargo woman accused of having sex with a 14-year-old at a hotel here earlier this week was charged Thursday with gross sexual imposition, a Class AA felony.
Chelsea Justine Leonard, who is homeless, admitted to police that she had sex with the boy twice late Monday night or Tuesday morning in a room of the Grand Inn hotel in south Fargo, according to a police report filed in Cass County District Court.
The boy's mother, who was staying in another room at the hotel, told police she learned of the sexual assault when Leonard came to her room and told her about it, court records say. When the boy's mother indicated she would call 911, Leonard threatened her, the documents say.
When police interviewed the boy, he said Leonard used a knife to coerce him into having sex. Leonard told police she made no such threat.
Leonard was arrested and booked at Cass County Jail, where she was on Friday. Bail was set at $100,000.
