FARGO — The Fargo Park District announced Wednesday, July 8, that it has temporarily closed a swimming pool due to staffing constraints brought on by possible COVID-19 exposure.

The move affects Southwest Recreation Pool, 1840 15th Ave. S., at Fargo South High School.

Staff members were exposed to a person who tested positive for COVID-19, the Fargo Park District said in a news release.

The COVID-19-positive person is not a park district staff member, and there's no immediate concern for the public, the release said. Staff members who were exposed have been tested and are quarantining as they await test results.

The Park District also said one staff member at Davies Recreational Pool has tested positive for COVID-19. However, after working with Fargo Cass Public Health and a contact tracer, it was determined that the Davies Pool can remain operating safely with unaffected staff and is open Wednesday as scheduled.

No other pools are impacted, including Island Park Pool, Northside Recreation Pool or Madison Pool & Splash Pad.

Fargo Parks will monitor the situation, work with state and local health officials and follow recommended guidelines as they become available, the release said.
