FARGO — Cass County residents over the age of 65 interested in information regarding the COVID-19 vaccine are invited to share their contact information with Fargo Cass Public Health.

"We have had a tremendous response from the community in terms of uptake of COVID-19 vaccine," Suzanne Schaefer, Fargo Cass Public Health's Director or Nursing said. "Before we add additional Phase 1B priority groups to our vaccine operation, we want to make sure we're providing residents in those higher risk groups an opportunity to receive the vaccine."

Residents in Phase 1B priority groups are encouraged to file a contact form or call 701-241-1360 to share their contact information with Fargo Cass Public Health. Residents should then monitor their email for communication regarding vaccine availability, as well as check junk and spam folders.

Fargo Cass Public Health also asks that residents do not share online registration links for vaccine clinics. Doing so may result in situations where individuals who are not currently eligible receive the vaccine, thus reducing vaccine availability for those who are eligible.

Priority groups in the North Dakota Department of Health's Phase 1B include older individuals and those with underlying health conditions. Fargo Cass Public Health continues to vaccinate individuals from Phase 1A as well.
