FARGO — Health officials at eventide say they are starting to see the light on the other side of the tunnel as the vaccine brings hope for their long term care residents.

According to national data, Since Dec. 20, COVID-19 cases have dropped 82% in nursing homes, and COVID-19 deaths fell more than 60% across the United States.

Health officials say we are seeing a similar dramatic drop locally. About 95% of Eventide long-term care residents have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

On Dec. 20, Eventide Senior Living Facilities had 16 COVID-19 cases. They are now at zero cases.

"I give a lot of credit to the vaccines and peoples vaccinations status, I really thinks that is what is driving the change," says Katja Olson, Vice President of clinical services at Eventide.
