BISMARCK — Following are the North Dakota Department of Health COVID-19 case rates, deaths, hospitalizations and vaccinations as of Wednesday, April 7. Because all data is preliminary, some numbers and totals may change from one day to the next.
Statewide case rates
- NEW CASES: 196
- TOTAL ACTIVE CASES: 1,171
- TOTAL CASES: 104,167
- TOTAL RECOVERED: 101,528
- DAILY TEST POSITIVITY RATE: 5.1%
North Dakota's active case count increased by 29 on Wednesday. Cass County, which includes Fargo, saw 77 new cases and has 45% of the state's active cases, which have doubled since late February. The two-week rolling average positivity rate is 4.8%.

DEATHS, NEWLY REPORTED:
TOTAL DEATHS: 1,468
Hospitalizations remained the same over the last day, and the department reported no new COVID-19 deaths.
FIRST DOSE ADMINISTERED: 249,666 (42.7% of eligible population)
FULL VACCINE COVERAGE: 176,790 (30.2% of eligible population)
The state continues to be a national leader in vaccine distribution, with a total of 441,946 shots administered. The health department urges residents to seek more information at www.health.nd.gov/covidvaccinelocator.
