FARGO — Sanford Health's seven day a week drive-up testing facility has returned.
The testing garage at the South University Medical Center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the first time since March.
Sanford said those who previously needed tests would have to walk into its urgent care, as demand was much lower. However, with news cases continuing to rise and demand for testing increasing, Sanford said it was time to reopen the garage.
The garage is now taking appointments and limited drive-ups. While testing is up, it's not anything the healthcare provider hasn't seen before.
"We've definitely seen an increase in the last month there, we're not reaching the number of tests that we did last November," said Sanford Health's Vice President and Medical Officer Dr. Doug Griffin. "And December, you know, during the very high, high times."
For those still wanting to get vaccinated, Dr. Griffin said Sanford will be holding a vaccine blitz Thursday, Sept. 30, at the FargoDome.
