WAHPETON, N.D. – North Dakota State’s only live mascot, who gained his fame on ESPN's “College Gameday,” is heading to Frisco, Texas, in style on some brand new wheels.

Corso the Bison has outgrown his travel trailer, so for months, fans have been raising money for a new one.

Gateway Chevrolet is one of the many donors, also sponsoring a pickup to carry the trailer.

GameDay's very own Lee Corso even pitched in $500.

The new trailer is lined with straw, wheat bales and plenty of hay for Corso to munch on during the trip.

Along the route, local zoos will be on standby in case there's anything Corso might need.

He'll be joined by a team from his home at the Chahinkapa Zoo in Wahpeton for the big road trip.

"I think he really gets excited when he sees the trailer and he knows he's going somewhere because then he tends to behave himself more," said Corso's trainer Tom Schmaltz. "Are you getting bored just standing here, buddy? You're doin’ pretty good."

They plan to hit the road Thursday morning, if the weather cooperates.
