WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., has announced his nominees to be appointed to the U.S. military academies on Tuesday, Nov. 17.
The nominees are as follows:
- Abigail Post, U.S. Military Academy (West Point): Post is a senior at Hankinson High School. She plays volleyball and takes Taekwondo lessons. Post also participates in the Science and Engineering Fair, math competitions, band, choir and Teens for Life.
- Loren Steinberg, U.S. Naval Academy: Steinberg is a member of National Honor Society in Fargo and currently attends Liberty University Online Academy. She cheerleads, plays golf, sings in choir and is a member of her student council.
- Rebecca Van Vleet: U.S. Naval Academy: Van Vleet attends Fargo North High School and is a member of the National Honor Society, 4-H competitive rifle and Air Force Jr. ROTC. She is also a runner, writer, hiker and a volunteer at her local food bank.
"It’s an honor to play a part in raising up the next generation of American military leaders," Cramer said in a press release. "I am grateful Abigail, Loren, and Rebecca are each eager and willing to use their drive, enthusiasm, and patriotism in service to our country. They will represent North Dakota well."
