The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Fargo-Moorhead Great Strides walk will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday in Rabanus Park in Fargo.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that affects 30,000 children and adults in the United States. It is caused by a defective gene that causes the body to produce an abnormally thick, sticky secretion, which clogs the airways, leading to chronic lung infections. There is currently no known cure for the disease.
Money raised during the event will be used to fund cystic fibrosis research.
