BISMARCK -- Fargo telephone vandal Michael Damron could stay in prison longer, now that he's been charged with vowing to "do evil" to a Bismarck district judge.
Burleigh County authorities said he threatened South Central District Judge Gail Hagerty in a letter after she ruled against him on a lawsuit he filed against a fellow State Penitentiary inmate.
The charge, threatening a public official, is a class C felony, which carries a maximum sentence of five years. It was filed Tuesday in Burleigh County. No initial court appearance has been set.
"He basically tried to get her to change her decision in his civil case and he basically threatened he's going to 'do evil' when he gets out," said Burleigh County Assistant State's Attorney Cynthia Feland.
Damron, 40, is finishing a 10-year sentence for theft of $60,000 to $80,000 worth of electronic equipment from Site on Sound in Fargo in January 1995.

To disable the store's burglar alarm, he cut Qwest phone cables in Fargo, knocking out service to 20,000 telephone customers in North Dakota and Minnesota for a week.
The damage was estimated at $1 million.
He has already completed his sentences for damaging a public utility and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Damron's release date is March 27, 2005, on the theft conviction. He was turned down for parole in November.
