Daniel P. Rheault, 89, Horace, North Dakota, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2003 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.

Daniel Rheault was born August 19, 1914 to Leon and Ernestine Rheault on the family farm near Horace, North Dakota. He grew up there, moving in to St. Benedict at the age of 7. He attended St. Joseph's Academy at St. Benedict's after which he worked on his family's farm and for area farmers. Daniel P. Rheault and Marie L. Rheault were married at St. Benedict Church, Horace, North Dakota on February 11, 1941. They lived in St. Benedict for three years before moving into Horace where they have lived since. Dan founded the Horace Oil Company which became Dan's Oil. In 1955 he moved the business into West Fargo and in 1983 he opened Dan's Oil North in Fargo. In 1984 he opened Dan's Oil South which relocated to its present location in 1993.

Dan was a member of the Elks, the Eagles, the Catholic Order of Foresters, the West Fargo Lions Club, the West Fargo Chamber of Commerce, the Knights of Columbus and the North Dakota and Minnesota Petroleum Dealers Association. Dan served as a director of the West Fargo State Bank and member of the Horace Senior Citizens Center. Dan was a lifelong member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Horace.

He is survived by his Wife Marie, at home; Children Audrey (Jerome) Casperson, Walcott, North Dakota, Carol (Jack) Fjelstad, Horace, North Dakota, daughter-in-law Darlene Rheault, Horace, North Dakota, Elaine (Gene) Wilhelmi, Fargo, North Dakota, Ronald (Lori) Rheault, Harwood, North Dakota, Dennis (Denise) Rheault, Fargo; 18 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Ernestine; son, Leonard; brother, Julien; 3 sisters, Laura Comeau, Annette Sauvageau, and Marie Rheault.

Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday St. Benedict Catholic Church, Horace, ND

Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m. Monday Boulger Funeral Home Chapel

Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 Monday in the funeral home and one hour before the funeral in the church

Burial: St. Benedict Cemetery, Horace, ND
