The American Diabetes Association raised about $5,500 with a walk Saturday at Fargo's Red River Zoo.
Seventy-five people participated in the walk, which raised money to send diabetic children ages 8 to 14 to summer camp, said Sheila Christensen, executive director of the association's Fargo-based chapter.
Major sponsors of the walk were Hornbacher's, the West Fargo Lion's Club and the Cosmopolitan Club.
The chapter, which covers North Dakota and parts of Minnesota, Iowa and Montana, is planning other fundraisers and promotions, too, she said.
