DICKINSON, N.D. -- A Dickinson woman accused of helping a man who murdered his wife before killing himself has been sentenced to five years in prison.

DICKINSON, N.D. -- A Dickinson woman accused of helping a man who murdered his wife before killing himself has been sentenced to five years in prison.

Melissa Angerer, who also goes by the name Melissa Cady, pleaded guilty to helping her cousin Jamie Osborn after he killed his estranged wife, Tracey, in August 2009. The Dickinson Press says she must also comply with psychological treatment.

Authorities say Angerer drove Jamie Osborn to the victim's residence then followed him to Dunn County, where he disposed of his wife's body and vehicle. They say Angerer also drove him to Montana, where he killed himself, and helped dispose of evidence.

Defense attorney Kevin McCabe says Angerer didn't want to go to trial and didn't want to put more stress on Tracey Osborn's family or her own family.
