Dilworth's Loco Daze will offer attendees a little more than the usual fair fare this year: a chance at a healthy lifestyle.

Organizers will hold the first Health and Wellness Fair on Tuesday as a way for Dilworth and surrounding residents to learn about different services available in the community, said Dilworth City Councilman Ryan Mullkin.

"It's just free information to let people know that there are services out there for them," Mullkin said.

.

The Health and Wellness Fair will feature more than 30 informational booths at the Dilworth Community Center.

"We have everything from the Alzheimer's Association to senior transportation, chiropractors ... and organic health, you name it," said Denise Anderson, the provider relations coordinator at Serenity Assisted Living in Dilworth, the city's co-sponsor for the event.

Although Serenity focuses on senior living, Anderson said organizers tried to provide a wide array of booths.

"We didn't just want to stick with elder heath. We wanted a whole continuum of overall wellness," Anderson said.

Attendees also can get free blood pressure checks, and a registered nurse will be available to answer health-related questions at an "ask-a-nurse" booth.

Eric Bergeson, an author from Fertile, Minn., will be the featured speaker at 10 a.m., followed by a free lunch for the first 250 attendees. Ron Evans of Ulen will provide musical entertainment.
