Dilworth man gets year jail sentence

A 28-year-old Dilworth man has been sentenced to a year in jail for failing to follow Minnesota's sex offender registration law. David Ramirez, 1609 3rd Ave.

A 28-year-old Dilworth man has been sentenced to a year in jail for failing to follow Minnesota's sex offender registration law.

David Ramirez, 1609 3rd Ave. N.W., who according to court documents is also known as David Roman, pleaded guilty in Clay County District Court to one count of failure to register as a sex offender.

According to court documents:

Clay County Sheriff's Department officials encountered Ramirez at the above Dilworth address in December on an unrelated matter and ran a check on him.

They learned he was a convicted sex offender who had not verified his registered address as of July 6. His last known address at that time was Argyle, Minn.

In 1994, Ramirez was convicted in Polk County, Minn., of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.
