Disability and aging conference set Oct. 1-3

FARGO - The 2013 Northern Plains Conference on Aging and Disability, "Unleashing the Power of Age, Health and Gender," will be Oct. 1-3 at the Ramada Plaza and Suites.

FARGO - The 2013 Northern Plains Conference on Aging and Disability, "Unleashing the Power of Age, Health and Gender," will be Oct. 1-3 at the Ramada Plaza and Suites.

Workshop sessions include: help for caregivers; steps to help families avoid probate court; treatment options for obesity; impact of spirituality and religion on dementia care; sleep and its impact on quality of life; benefits of aromatherapy in dementia care; obsessive compulsive disorder; and new research on treating symptoms and preventing Alzheimer's disease.

The event is intended for caregivers, advocates, health and social service professionals, older individuals and people with disabilities, students and others involved or interested in the field of aging-related services.
