WEST FARGO – Divers searching the Sheyenne River here on Friday failed to find any signs of a Moorhead man who disappeared after a snowmobile outing.

Search and rescue dive teams from Jamestown and Fargo looked for Cole Joseph Schwindt’s body in the river north of 12th Avenue Northwest.

Schwindt, 34, is thought to have fallen into the river while snowmobiling with friends on Tuesday. His friends reported him missing after they separated at about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.

In the course of a search on Wednesday, authorities found Schwindt’s snowmobile and some clothes. They used sonar imaging to search the river before calling off the search until Friday.

The dive teams will resume their search Saturday at 9 a.m.
