MOORHEAD - The driver of a sports utility vehicle was extricated and two other occupants were also taken via ambulance after a collision with a gravel truck east of Moorhead Wednesday afternoon.
"We had to take the Jaws of Life," Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist said. "Glyndon Rescue and Fire were here with the extrication equipment and took the door off and then were able to get him out."
The driver of the gravel truck did not appear to be injured, Bergquist said.
The gravel truck was headed northbound on Highway 336 just after 3 p.m. when it collided with the SUV exiting Interstate 94. The SUV rolled over into a ditch. The gravel truck ended right-side-up in another ditch on the eastern edge of the interchange, below the Highway 336 overpass.
Bergquist said he believed all three occupants in the SUV were wearing seat belts. The driver was conscious at the scene, he said.

"I did speak to the driver, also. He was definitely in some pain but seemed to be OK," Bergquist said.
The two occupants in the SUV were seen walking under their own power. The sheriff said they appeared to be fine.
The incident is being investigated by the Minnesota State Patrol.
