Drowning involved alcohol, autopsy says

A 26-year-old Fargo man who drowned in the Red River in June had a blood-alcohol level of 0.118 percent at the time of his death, autopsy findings show.

A 26-year-old Fargo man who drowned in the Red River in June had a blood-alcohol level of 0.118 percent at the time of his death, autopsy findings show.

Anthony M. French was last seen alive on June 16 in Moorhead. His body was found in the river on June 22.

French's blood-alcohol level was contained in a final autopsy report the Ramsey (Minn.) County Medical Examiner's Office sent to the Moorhead Police Department, said Deputy Police Chief Robert Larson.

The report confirmed initial findings that French died of freshwater drowning and that no foul play is suspected, Larson said. Drowning involved alcohol, autopsy says 20071018
