A benefit auction and concert raised about $7,700 for the family of Dru Sjodin.
Hundreds packed Playmakers in Fargo on Thursday to show support for the University of North Dakota coed, missing since Nov. 22.
The event, attended by Sjodin's family, her sorority sisters and supporters from all over the Red River Valley, featured local bands and a silent auction of donated items.
Many involved, including organizer Donny Dahl of Fargo and songwriter Mike Tuckner of Sartell, Minn., have no connections to the Sjodins, but they wanted to do something to help the family.
"It was great," Dahl said Friday. "It made me feel better about a lot of things just seeing everybody together."

Dahl, the 22-year-old lead singer of band 3 Dollar Molly, organized the event with help from his friend Nicole Clink, also of Fargo.
Dru's father, Allan Sjodin, said the money would go toward the next search, scheduled for Jan. 22 in Polk County.
The donations will be sent to the Dru Sjodin fund at Lakes State Bank, 31113 Front St., Pequot Lakes, Minn. 56472.
