DULUTH, Minn. - Duluth police have identified the victim of a Saturday morning homicide as 33-year-old Matthew Walker of Duluth..

The Duluth Police Department said Monday that Walker was killed at a rooming house about 6:20 a.m. Saturday. Police said it appeared that the incident started as an assault, but have released few other details.

A suspect, 53-year-old James Joseph Strappe, was arrested at the scene and is awaiting formal charges. He could appear in court as soon as Tuesday.

Other residents of the rooming house said Walker was a native of Virginia, Minn., and had been living at the house a little more than a month.
