DULUTH, Minn. – A 32-year-old Duluth man died early Sunday in an all-terrain vehicle crash in central St. Louis County, authorities said.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office reported that authorities were called to the 5100 block of North Comstock Lake Road at about 12:30 a.m. on a report of an ATV crash. A passerby reported finding an overturned ATV in a ditch, with a man pinned under the machine. First responders attempted to administer first aid, but were unable to resuscitate the victim.
The sheriff's office reported that it appears the man was attempting to navigate a curve in the road when the ATV left the road and rolled in the ditch.
The crash remains under investigation, but authorities said it appears alcohol and speed may be factors in the incident. The name of the victim was not released Sunday morning pending notification of family.
Comstock Lake is about 30 miles north of Duluth.
