MOORHEAD - Both westbound lanes of Interstate 94 at the Eighth Street overpass here will close tonight as workers start to remove the bridge's deck and beams and place new beams.
Traffic will be detoured to the Eighth Street exit and entrance ramps from 9 p.m. today to 5 a.m. Thursday.
The bridge was damaged on July 25 when a westbound sanitation truck traveling on I-94 hit the outside beam of the bridge.
Crews began repairing the bridge this week. Currently, the shoulder of northbound U.S. 75 is closed to allow crews to remove the bridge railing.
Following the overnight two-lane closure, daytime single-lane closures on westbound I-94 and northbound U.S. 75 will continue through mid-November.
