GRAND FORKS, N.D. - An elderly woman has died in a house fire here late Wednesday.
Battalion Chief Rod Hadland told WDAY Radio News the fire call at 1524 5th St. N. came in just before midnight.
He declined to identify the woman but said her body was found in the bathroom area of the single-story home.
Efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.
Hadland said the home is a total loss and heavy smoke was pouring from the home when firefighters arrived.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
