Pop music's most prominent piano men might still return to the Fargodome. But after various local media outlets reported that Elton John and Billy Joel's "Face 2 Face" tour will be here in May, the Fargodome had no official comment.
Fargodome General Manager Rob Sobolik declined to comment on the whether the two titans of pop piano were coming to the dome. But Wednesday afternoon the Fargodome sent out a news release for a "major concert announcement" to come during a news conference this morning.
Earlier Wednesday, Fargo radio station KFGO reported on its Web site that the piano pair was coming and the concert production company Jam Productions would hold a news conference today with details about the concert.
The report appeared to be taken off the radio station's Web site by the afternoon.
Also, the local Fox TV affiliate KVRR reported Tuesday night that John and Joel would be performing at the Fargodome around the May 5 date a show is scheduled at St. Paul's Xcel Energy Center.
