Ken Peeders of Minnesota State Community and Technical College was among four college presidents awarded emeritus status Wednesday by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees.
Peeders has served as president of MSCTC since 2003, when the campuses in Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Moorhead and Wadena joined to form the college. Before that, he was president of Fergus Falls Community College.
His retirement takes effect June 30.
Also honored was Orley Gunderson, who retires July 31 after 25 years as president of Northland Community and Technical College in East Grand Forks and Thief River Falls. Gunderson is the longest-serving two-year college president in the system.
To receive emeritus status, retiring presidents must have provided exemplary service and completed at least five years as president of a state university or college.
