BISMARCK - Retired Air Force Gen. Charles "Chuck" Wald will be the keynote speaker at the annual Marketplace for Entrepreneurs.
Wald is a national leader in public energy policy, said Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., and state Agriculture Commissioner Roger Johnson, who organize the state's biggest and longest-running economic development exposition.
Next year's Marketplace is Jan. 16-17 at the Fargodome. Conrad and Johnson said it will have a special focus on energy issues.
Wald is a member of the National Commission on Energy Policy, a bipartisan group of energy experts. He also serves on the Energy Security Leadership Council, which is developing initiatives to reduce America's dependence on foreign oil.
