WARROAD, Minn. - A former teacher at Warroad High School was sentenced to 12 years in prison for having sex with a student.
Dick Lee Staydohar, 59, who taught art at the school, was sentenced Friday in Roseau County District Court. He had previously pleaded guilty, admitting he had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old student in his class in 2002.
County Attorney Michelle Moren asked the court to sentence Staydohar to the mandatory minimum sentence of 12 years in prison.
