Offers to volunteer have flooded in for the Fargo-Moorhead area "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" build, organizers said Tuesday.
But there's an ingredient missing from the recipe for a successful project: restaurants that can provide late-night food for busy builders.
Megan Messer, a spokeswoman for builder Heritage Homes, said several area restaurants have stepped up, but a couple more donors are needed.
Specifically, the project will need someone to supply food for 300 people a night over six nights for a 10 p.m. meal, and a similar amount for 2 a.m. meal over six nights, she said.
"We've had a ton of local restaurants step up," she said. "We just need a couple more."

The meals would have to be available from Monday to Oct. 10, Messer said.
Firms willing to donate food should call Nancy Haverland (701) 640-3612, Jodi Hanson (701) 388-0989 or Michele Evert (701) 361-8131 with food donation requests.
Messer did not have an exact volunteer count available but said many volunteer slots have been filled since Monday's pep rally for the event. Still, volunteers won't be turned away.
She said those who have already volunteered (by signing up online at www.extrememakeoverfm.com ) will be contacted later this week by e-mail to confirm they will participate.
Messer said it typically takes 4,000 volunteers for an "Extreme Makeover" project.
"There's a couple of overnight shifts that we still need volunteers for," Messer said. "We'll definitely take more."
Benefit concert
For those looking for a good time while helping raise funds for the "Extreme Makeover" project, the band 32 Below will play a benefit concert Thursday in Fargo with all ticket and merchandise proceeds going to the family that will be the focus of the Fargo home building project.

The all-ages show starts at 8 p.m. in The Venue at The Hub, 2525 9th Ave. S. The doors will open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and children 12 and under are free. Tickets are available at the door.
Safety tips for toes
One of the things the producers of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" stress is they want all participants to think of safety first.
To that end, they repeatedly told audience members at Monday's pep rally in Fargo that all volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes. People wearing open-toed sandals, flip-flops and Crocs will be turned away until they have appropriate footwear, show representatives said.
